Woman Shocked To Find Chalk Outline Of ‘Body’ With Case Number Under Her Living Room Carpet

A woman on TikTok was horrified to discover what appeared to be the outline of a body as well as a case number under the carpet in her living room. TikTok user @dontbeanashole shared a video in which she peeled up the carpet to show the old “crime scene,” complete with writing in black marker saying “Case091101.” Could it be real or is it all one big hoax?

The woman said she did know someone died in the house. In the video, she insists she wasn’t really bothered knowing that someone had previously passed away in the house. After all, unless you buy a new build, chances are people have lived and died in the home before you. However, discovering the remnants of a crime scene was just too much. “I wasn’t bothered knowing someone had died in my new house, but imagine my surprise when I ripped up the floor and found this,” she said, adding that it was “a little creepy.”

The “crime” allegedly took place on January 19, 2018. That’s according to the date accompanying the so-called case number on the floor. That’s not very long ago, which is partly what freaked @dontbeanashole out, not to mention thousands of commenters who saw the video.

The reaction to the “crime scene” was pretty mixed. Some people suggested that the TikToker move out of the house immediately as it was just too much to bear, while others pointed out how “gullible” you’d have to be to believe that this was an actual crime scene. “Ya’ll are gullible. That’s not even the proportions of a human body,” one person wrote. Another added: “Whoever installed the carpet drew that to freak out whoever removed the carpet.”

At the end of the day, it’s unlikely that this is of any real concern. You would think there would be some kind of public record if someone had died violently in the house or if it was associated with any kind of police investigation, so I suppose if the homeowner really wanted to know what (if anything) happened there, she has her ways of finding out. I guess that’s not as fun as a mysterious TikTok video, though!
