Have you bought a sex toy recently?
The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic has been catastrophic for all kinds of businesses. Bars and clubs by the thousands lie empty. Movie theaters and concert venues have shut their doors while bookstores and art galleries continue to gather dust. Hair salons, spas and barber shops have left their usual clients unpampered for weeks.
That said, not every industry is hurting. Toilet paper sales are up, food delivery services are booming and basically anything that can be done online or delivered to your door is continuing to move forward. And one of those things … is sex toys.

Yep, the various social isolation and quarantine measures put in place by countries across the planet don’t appear to have had a negative impact on our collective sex drives. In fact, in some cases, people are even hornier than they were before.
In the relatively early going of the pandemic, there’s been an unprecedented surge in orders for sex toys from lots of different companies. But this isn’t a case of a rising tide lifting all boats — our new circumstances appear to have helped propel some toys to even greater popularity than usual.
In order to get a sense of what those are, AskMen spoke to a number of different leading sex toy brands to find out what, exactly, the sex toys of the moment are.
In an earlier version of this story, our editors had included Giddy, a medical product used to treat erectile dysfunction without pills. We regret including it as Giddy is not a sex toy; it is an FDA-registered men’s ED device. For more information on Giddy, please visit www.getmegiddy.com.
Most Popular Sex Toys Bought During the COVID-19 Pandemic
JJ Apex by Fantasy for Her
“This one has been a viral hit online,” says sex educator Anne Hodder-Shipp. “This one simulates cunnilingus and features a suction pump, tongue-like sweeping, and vibration all in one.”
$179.99 at JimmyJane.com
Autopump by Autoblow
“Our best selling product is normally the Autoblow A.I., but it is at the high end of the market, costing $220,” says Autoblow founder Brian Sloan. “In the last few weeks, we noticed a shift. Autoblow A.I. is down about 25 perccent in sales but more customers are purchasing our less expensive products like the Automilker and the Autopump. I think that being stuck at home paired with the economic uncertainty has caused people to buy sex toys, but to choose less expensive ones for the time being.”
$89.95 at Autoblow.com
WINK Condoms by Okamoto
“As COVID-19 grips the world, we can only assume that people are taking extra precautions,” says Paradise Marketing owner Dennis Paradise. “We couldn’t help but notice that our condom order numbers have increased in Europe and Latin America — and gone sky-high in the U.S. — in only a manner of days.”
“Some of the uptick, we can attest, is being attributed to the release of new ultra-thin WINK condoms from Okamoto,” he says. “We wish these sales boosts signified a more joyous occasion, but we are happy that everyone is staying in and, apparently, staying safe.”
$19.59 for 10 pack at Target.com
Evoke Du-o by Jimmyjane
“This one was kind of a sleeper, but now there’s been an uptick in sales,” says Hodder-Shipp. “We think it’s because it’s a combination product — it doesn’t just have to be used for sex/orgasms but of course it’s great for that, too. The massage wheel feels great on tired neck, shoulder and calf muscles, plus it vibrates … and the handle can unofficially be used as a vibrator/dildo combo.”
$149.99 at JimmyJane.com
blueMotion NEX|1 panty vibe by OhMiBod
“Our best-selling products are app-connected Bluetooth toys that can be controlled remotely from anywhere, whether you are in your bedroom or across the world,” says OhMiBod founder Suki Dunham. Bluetooth toys, she thinks, are “the perfect solution for lovers separated by physical distancing. These toys are more powerful than ever before allowing people to stay intimate while being physically apart.”
