It is no longer news that a male celebrity, a Brazilian Football legend Edson Arantes do Nascimento aka King Pele have been sick and hospitalized. The latest news now is that Pele is rapidly showing ‘progressive improvement’ after being treated for a respiratory infection at a hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Globo media, a Brazilian publication reported that King Pele’s condition is greatly improving after he was taken to the hospital for tests.
The media home add that the 82-year-old ex-footballer has been showing ‘stable signs, now very ‘conscious’ and is ‘with no more further complications.’
Edson Arantes do Nascimento who won the World Cup in his career three times in 1958, 1962, and 1970, was admitted to the hospital to treat a respiratory infection that was aggravated by Covid.
Despite initial concerns that he was close to death, Pele’s daughters Flavia and Kely Nascimento quickly moved to rubbish those reports and said even though their father have been ‘sick’ the legend is still supporting Brazil in their bid to win the World Cup.
After his chemotherapy to treat colon cancer had been suspended, the former Brazil striker was swiftly moved to palliative care.
However, an update from the doctors treating him in Sao Paulo also confirmed that the former striker is rapidly responding well to treatment.
‘He is still undergoing treatment, however, the state of his health have remained stable. He has also had a good response to respiratory infection care, with no worsening of the condition in the last 24 hours,’ the doctors admitted.
