Anambra NUJ congratulates new CMD of Ojukwu varsity teaching hospital

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council has congratulated Dr Josephat Akabuike as the new Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, COOUTH, Amaku, Awka, Anambra State.

THE PARADISE gathered that Dr Akabuike was appointed following the demise of the Chief Medical Director, Late Dr Basil Nwankwo, three months ago after a brief illness.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the CMD in his office in Awka recently, the State Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Emmanuel Ifesinachi on behalf of the executives described the appointment as well deserved.

Akabuike was until his new appointment, former state Commissioner for Health and Chairman of Governing Council, Anambra State College of Health Technology, Obosi, Anambra State.

The NUJ boss described the CMD as a thoroughbred professional and a leader who distinguished himself throughout his reign then as a Health Commissioner.

“Everything you have done and accomplished has led to this point and you truly deserve it. You’ve always worn diligence, dedication and professionalism.

“You have worked so hard and created the necessary advantage to convince others of your potential and abilities.

Ifesinachi said further that “the union wholeheartedly identified with you because of your patriotic ideals, unbridled commitment to legacy and doggedness towards improving the health service delivery in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku-Awka.

“We are proud of you and as stakeholders in the health sector, we are optimistic that you would give the required commitment to Ndi-Anambra towards repositioning the hospital for greater heights,” he added.

The Chief Medical Director in his speech assured the NUJ delegates that his administration is ever ready to work in synergy with the union to ensure that the hospital is projected in a good light before global communities.

He noted that by next week, he will unveil his 100-day achievement in office.

Akabuike uses the opportunity to thank the state governor, Willie Obiano, for finding him worthy of the appointment.
