What is your purpose of blogging?
Ans: I am an Engineering graduate and I got married after my studies were completed. Due to family level constraints, I’ve refused to accept some offers from IT concerns that came my way. Then, I’ve decided to make use of my academics and searched for some consistent ways to make money on the web. I’ve performed some online jobs, but the returns were not up to the mark.
As writing is my preferred hobby, I joined as a writer in iWriter.com. I’ve written hundreds of articles for different clients and this helped me to shape my writing approach. I gained knowledge on writing SEO blog posts and I’ve created my blog on my familiar niche to meet monetary benefits.
Not only to make money, I perform blogging to advance my writing and marketing skills. I feel more comfortable to work from home and fulfilled with this job.
What were the challenges you faced at the beginning of your blogging career?
Ans: Like other newbie bloggers, I had struggled to drive traffic to my blog in my initial days of blogging. But I understood the importance of doing KW research and driving organic traffic with it. Now, things are getting changed! I’m driving a good daily traffic for my blog.
Besides, I felt little hard with link building techniques at the beginning of this career but I get practiced to build links in a natural manner. No other challenges I’ve faced at my initial blogging days.
How long have you been blogging?
Ans: I have been blogging since 2009. I started blogging in Blogspot platform and found 3-4 blogs on various niches. Those blogs drove good traffic from search engines but were badly hit by Google algorithms and I suddenly lost the entire visitors.
Hence, I’ve decided to learn the basic blogging stuff and joined in some Facebook blogging groups. Then I’ve created the blog “MyMagicFundas” with the help of an avid blogger Atish Ranjan (Founder of TechTricksWorld.com)
What is your main source of traffic generation?
Ans: As I said before, my main source of traffic comes from search engines. I have decent Direct & Referral Traffic too!
If your blog generates income, what is your main source of income in your blog?
Ans: Yeah, my blog is generating a good income (not bad)! I monetized my blog with Google Adsense and it is my main source of Income.

How do you handle the SEO of your blog?
Ans: I’m using the keyword research tool, Long Tail Pro to get the profitable keywords and I craft blog post with them. Choosing and placing the keywords are more important and I always do perfect on-page SEO with SEO by Yoast WP plugin. I use LSI keywords for the main keywords and never do over SEO.
What are the 5 things you do not do as a blogger to keep you on the success path?
Ans: Add “I never” to every point
Lose blog consistency.
Stay inactive in social media.
Publish the blog post without the personal touch.
Do Poor or Over SEO.
Follow black hat techniques.
Which of the blogging platform do you prefer and why?
Ans: Like other bloggers, I prefer to blog at WordPress platform as the plug-ins do magic here!
In your opinion, why do so many bloggers fail and only few succeed?
Ans: I came across many bloggers who failed to make money and quit blogging as they lost their patience or wanted to earn massive income in the short period. Also, they didn’t understand the needs of their audience and carried out blogging in an inconsistent way. So they gave up blogging.
Successful bloggers never did the above mistakes!
What is your next plan for your blogging career?
Ans: I don’t have any major plans in my blogging career as I wish to spend more time with my family. I have been working as a writer for some tech blogs and thus it is somewhat difficult to manage blogging & writing along with the household works.
Blogging isn’t just publishing the post! We need to build the relationship with fellow & influential bloggers and engage the audience as well. Moreover, link building matters a lot and thus quality time should be spent to build links.
I want to do these blogging tasks in a perfect manner and thus I don’t aim for big things.
Nirmala Santhakumar, In your opinion, is blogging a full time business?
Ans: Yes, blogging can be a full-time business but it varies with person to person. Some bloggers have great internet marketing and writing talents, they can start a full-time blogging business. But others may have a day job or family responsibilities like me. So, they can blog at their spare time to advance their ability.
But, I would like to say that it is more likely to make a steady income with blogging through various monetization methods!
